About Us

Metaboards was founded in 2016 by professors and published researchers from Oxford University, with the objective to focus on wireless charging and data transfer using metamaterials.

Based in Oxford, UK, Metaboards is a pioneer in metamaterials – the science of creating materials in certain shapes, sizes or orientations to give it unique properties that would not be found in nature.

Nimrata Boora

Nimrata Boora

Nim joined Metaboards in July 2018. She trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte, specialising in auditing SME’s within the tech sector before switching to the world of start ups. Prior to joining Metaboards Nim served as CFO of Redux, who completed a successful exit in August 2017.

Dr Irina Khromova

Dr Irina Khromova

Irina joined Metaboards in 2017 to lead the development of new technologies. She has a PhD in Physics and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Previously, Irina worked in applied and fundamental research in RF and THz engineering as well as optics. Most recently, Irina was an Assistant Professor at the Public University of Navarra.

Dennis O’Donovan

Dennis O’Donovan

Dennis has 30 years of experience in the consumer electronics industry, working with multinational companies such as Motorola, Nokia, Vertu & Philips. He has also worked with technology start-up companies including Purple Labs as founder and CEO and most recently as VP Operations & Supply Chain at Redux, who completed a successful exit in August 2017.

Simon Harris

Simon Harris
Executive Chairman

Simon has recently taken on the role of steering Metaboards to the next stage of its development. He has helped to found, fund and build a series of technology start-ups, especially in the energy-transition sector. He is also Chairman of Lambda Energy Ltd and adviser to an Oxford investment house. He’s a graduate of Pembroke College, Cambridge.
